The Author

This page is here to provide a biographical profile, plus additional infos, about the only author behind the ufopsi.com web site. The aim is to show you I'm a real person, with a life and normal interests. Last but not least, I'm no "UFO tweet" but a graduated visual communicator.

By Michele Bugliaro Goggia - last modified: May 19, 2006 10:44 AM

My name's Michele ("Michael" in English) Bugliaro Goggia and I'm single. I was born on February 19, 1976 in Como, north Italy. I've always lived in that far, tiny Nation called Switzerland, growing up in the Canton Ticino, speaking Italian and learning English, French and German during my scholarship. I've attended linguistic high school in Mendrisio from 1991 to 1995.

I went to Lausanne for a year and then to Fribourg, studying journalism at the local University for two years. Finally, I picked up my life again and decided to study visual communication at the SUPSI college (Lugano). There, I've explored various fields like illustration, video, graphic design, typography and web design. I graduated on december 2003 with an handheld interface serving as mobile guide. This has scored a 5.45 mark, 6 being the maximum!

I've started getting into UFOs and the paranormal back in the 1990s, although the first wave of Japanese anime (such as UFO Robot Grendizer) from the 1970s and some TV shows like Visitors probably have influenced me too. I've started reading books and magazines, fascinated by flying saucers, ghosts and all sort of mysteries. Such interest received a boost in 2000: I got my first home Internet connection. My chance to connect to the near Italian UFO community. Names I've virtually met, among many, are Alfredo Lissoni, Edoardo Russo, Stefania Genovese, Giulia D'Ambrosio, Paola Harris, Derrel Sims. At later times, I've met some of them in person.

This Internet wave started my "career" in ufology: along with Alfredo Lissoni then with Carmelo Scuderi and his unfortunate website; lastly within the Swiss CUSI and with the PARSEC as well.

In recent times, I've become quite more sceptic. I must thank my University background for letting me "see the light": having followed courses of anthropology, psychology, journalism, sociology and design has helped. I've understood how there is a lot more to learn than the claims around Area51.

Beyond UFOs and the paranormal, I'm a common individual. I enjoy music (Stray Cats, Reverend Horton Heat, Dwight Yoakam, Tina Arena, Paul McCartney), anime (Kimagure Orange Road, UFO Robot, Mazinger) and fossils. I like dogs very much, especially beagles, bull terriers, labradors.
