UFO&PSI Glossary: U
Glossary comes from latin "glossarium, glossa" (foreign word), and is in fact a list of often difficult-to-understand words followed by their definitions. An encyclopedia of any kind cannot be considered complete without providing a comprehensive glossary.

U.A.O.: Unidentified Aerial Object.
U.A.P.: Unidentified Aerial Phenomena, the same as UFO.
U.F.O.: Unidentified Flying Object. This UFO replaces "flying saucer" from 1952 at first in USAF documents, later in books and articles. Edward Ruppelt used "UFO" in Blue Book to cut short with jokes about flying saucers.
UFO believer: this is how pro ETH researchers are called by skeptics.
UFOCAT: computerized catalog of the most genuine sightings, realized by prof. Saunders, member of the Condon Committee. Nowadays, as property the CUFOS, UFOCAT contains more than 100'000 worldwide cases.
Ufo-Chaser: A person(s) who intentionally goes out with a camera to photograph or video tape UFOs. A UFO-Chaser utilizes information of past Ufo reports and locations in hopes of catching a repeating UFO on some type of media.
UFO-crash: fall of a UFO for damages.The first one to introduce the eventuality's been american journalist Frank Scully in 1950.
U.L.A.T.T.: Unidentified Lenticular Aerodyne (Aircraft?) Technology Transfer, term used in some MJ-12 files to describe extraterrestrial engines.
Ummo: on January 14, 1966 Fernando Sesma receives the first phone call from the Ummo people, extraterrestrials whose planet were 15 light years from Earth. During the following years, hundreds of pages are sent from "los Ummitas" (like ISEI 456, DEI 98) by mail to researchers. It is thought the Ummo case is a complex hoax.
USAF: United States Air Force.
U.S.O.: Unidentified Submerged Objects, ufological phenomena in the hydrosphere (splash-down or take-off from the waters).
U.T.: Universal Time, or GMT.
