UFO&PSI Glossary: N

Glossary comes from latin "glossarium, glossa" (foreign word), and is in fact a list of often difficult-to-understand words followed by their definitions. An encyclopedia of any kind cannot be considered complete without providing a comprehensive glossary.

NASA: in 1977 it answered negatively to the invitation of President J. Carter to study UFOs.

NATO (OTAN, "Organization du Traité du Nord-atlantique"): defensive (anti-URSS) born in the afterwar period. Various sources and situations show it also studed UFOs, collecting datas for USA in Europe and Canada.

NICAP: National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena of Washington (no more active).

N.L.: Nocturnal Light. Following the Hynek classification, N.L. are anomalous lights observed nightly and whose description excludes airplanes, meteors or stars.

N.L.O.: "Néopozannié Létaiouchtché Objekti", UFO in Russian.

NORAD: North American Aerospace Defense system, made of many radars to detect any flying object (rocket, jet or UFO) approaching USA.
Nordic: human-like alien, very friendly, related to contactees.
