UFO&PSI Glossary: D
Glossary comes from latin "glossarium, glossa" (foreign word), and is in fact a list of often difficult-to-understand words followed by their definitions. An encyclopedia of any kind cannot be considered complete without providing a comprehensive glossary.

D.C.I.: Director of Central Intelligence, director of the CIA, chief of Intelligence Community and main presidential advisor about information. The DCI, also known as DCIA (Director of Central Intelligence Agency), leads the Office of Emergency Planning too.
DD: Daylight Disc. It is part of the famous Hynek classification system, describing disc shaped objects sighted in the day sky. It has to be noted "Disc" includes any objects (eggs, cigar, triangular, etc.) seen during the day. Only a small fraction of sightings occurred during the day: the colour is white or silver, with rapid acceleration and no sonic "bang", not to forget the "dead leaf" descent.
D.D.I.: Deputy Director Intelligence.
Debunking: the act through which a particular case, flap, or a phenomenon is contained within acceptable limits of public awareness, through a respected scientist's skeptical individual explanations.
DEFCON: DEFense CONdition, NORAD's 5 alert levels. DEFCON 1 is the maximal, highest war alert.
Deros: detrimental robots, evil creatures slaves of their own passions, also called "Vhujunka". These were the degenerated survivors of the Titans, living underground.
D.E.W.: Distant Early Warning Line.
D.O.R.: Deadly Orgone Radiations, discovered by Wilhelm Reich. This DOR generates from orgone and radioactive energy and is deadly for humans. Following Reich, DOR is produced in the atmosphere as well. Flying saucers (Alpha Energies) used an orgone propulsion, expelling DOR as a subproduct of such system.
Double exposure: the fact of exposing a film twice, superimposing a photograph onto another previous one. Appearently, this trick, or hoax, can be uncovered through a microdensimeter scan. Not every camera allows double exposures, by the way.
