Movies: The Tripods Season 1
The following is a movie I've watched and reviewed. Contrary to popular belief, I'm not selling DVDs. This is not a list of movies that tell you "the truth about UFOs". Simply said, I like movies. Each review is as simple and non technical as possible.

Description: England, the year 2089. The human race comes from an apocalyptic war that pulled scientific development back to Middle Age. The human race no more has knowledge of cars and telephones. An alien race, called The Tripods, arrives and takes control over humanity. These Tripods are huge, one-eyed aliens with three shoulders and legs, with visible veins. They built their 20 meters high tripod ships at their image, dominating the mountains. As soon as a young human reaches a certain age, a Tripod's ship arrives into the village and, after a ceremony, is capped with a golden triangle. Two cousins, Will and Henry Parker, rebel against capping and run away, towards the White Mountains, where a group of uncapped refugees fights the Tripods.
I watched the Tripods on Swiss Italian TV TSI lots of years ago and it damn impressed me. We all were afraid to spot a Tripod over the mountains! In 2001 I was in London and bought The Tripods Season 1, hoping to see Season 2 soon, in which you see the Tripods. Despite the good sales, Season 2 has been canceled because of a misunderstanding.
The Tripods has been BBC's big effort to jump into TV sci-fi. Very expensive but well done (considering it was 1984). If most sci-fi series featured humanoid aliens (Klingons, Romulans, etc.), the Tripods were radically different. The show, not only for children, replaced Doctor Who and reached a peak of 9.5 million watchers! If season 1 doesn't contain much sci-fi,The Tripods in season 2 are shown and revealed. Season 3 was cancelled during filming of 2.
