Movies: Star Wars Trilogy Box Set

The following is a movie I've watched and reviewed. Contrary to popular belief, I'm not selling DVDs. This is not a list of movies that tell you "the truth about UFOs". Simply said, I like movies. Each review is as simple and non technical as possible.

Description: Episode IV - A New Hope Luke Skywalker, a young farm boy from Tatooine, is caught into the struggle of the rebel alliance when he meets Obi-Wan Kenobi, who has lived for years in seclusion on the desert planet. Obi-Wan begins Luke's Jedi training as Luke joins him on a daring mission to rescue the beautiful rebel leader Princess Leia from the clutches of the evil Empire.
Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back Three years later, Imperial forces continue to pursue the rebels. After the rebellion's defeat on the ice planet Hoth, Luke journeys to the planet Dagobah to train with Jedi Master Yoda, who has lived in hiding since the fall of the Republic. In an attempt to convert Luke to the Dark Side, Darth Vader lures young Skywalker into a trap in the Cloud City of Bespin.
Episode VI - Return Of The Jedi In the epic conclusion of the saga, the Empire prepares to crush the rebellion with a more powerful Death Star while the rebel fleet mounts a massive attack on the space station. We see the Ewoks.

The original Star Wars trilogy is part of Hollywood's legendary movies. Star Wars usually was broadcasted by RAI Italian TV around Christmas, and I sure loved to watch it. Evil versus Good, with a drop of misticism brought by the Jedi idea. The lightsabers are really an original concept, giving Jedi Masters a further proud look. The long-awaited DVD release has required the original movie masters to be cleaned and restored.

The box contains a fourth disc full of extra contents. The box itself is very well done. Furthermore, Lucas has enhaced the movies with some new digital effects, added a few scenes and replaced the spirit of Anakin, in the end of Episode VI, with Hayden Christensen (Anakin Skywalker). The final result is astounding! It seems the first copies of the Italian edition contained a completely wrong translation of most texts, though.

Some fans did not appreciate the changes at all, expecting the original versions to be brought on DVD. I am not that much into Star Wars to recognize these changes, but they don't disturb me at all. Most importantly, they do not alter the story.
