Movies: Donnie Darko
The following is a movie I've watched and reviewed. Contrary to popular belief, I'm not selling DVDs. This is not a list of movies that tell you "the truth about UFOs". Simply said, I like movies. Each review is as simple and non technical as possible.

Description: October the 2nd, 1988. Donnie Darko is a young boy who suffers from mental deseases, though being very intelligent and sensitive. His imaginary friend is a kind of big black rabbit, called Frank. This "creature" orders him to commit acts of violence and announces Donnie a tragic news: the end of the world in 28 days. In fact, it in a dramatic airplane accident, in which one of the engines falls onto Donnie's house, no one can explain it. Having followed his rabbit hallucination in the garden, Donnie has saved his own life. The young boy understands how much important it is to be alive. He's going to discover love, a mysterious book and the power to travel through the various causes that keep the universe united, able to decide the curse of destiny and time.
In Donnie Darko, a second universe is created to fix the broken one, so that balance is restored. Donnie Darko is a brilliant movie, a masterpiece. By far not easy to understand. I had to watch it many times before starting to get the idea. Love, fantasy and horror are mixed into this very well written story. Visual means add a further surreality, with the "glossy tunnels" representing the links among causes and effects. The actors are credible, Jake Gyllenhaal in particular (dark, disturbed, depressed, sleepy). The soundtrack is wisely chosen.
