Movies: Goldrake All'Attacco
The following is a movie I've watched and reviewed. Contrary to popular belief, I'm not selling DVDs. This is not a list of movies that tell you "the truth about UFOs". Simply said, I like movies. Each review is as simple and non technical as possible.

Description: First DVD of a trilogy, result of a mix of the first 4 episodes. Alcor (Koji), aboard his TFO flying saucer spots a UFO above Mount Fuji, but it is way too fast to catch it. Duke Fleed (Actarus), escaped from his home planet Fleed, after evil Vegans have attacked with their deadly weapons, doesn't seem interested in UFOs nor in the TFO. Doctor Procton welcomes Koji among his staff. A high rank scientist, leader of the Fortress of Sciences, Procton is studying UFOs. The arrival of Koji, Kabuto (former pilot of Mazinger Z) opens a rivality between Actarus and Koji. If Actarus keeps his identity secret from Koji, he is nonetheless worried about the red Moon, sign of the Vegan attack.
This DVD is rather good but not perfect at all. If the image has been restored, the sound presents some serious problems at different moments. The movie is just a cut and paste of different episodes, but in Italy it is the only chance to see the great Goldrake on DVD. This, thanks to Dynamic, who sells a fine box of the series in Japan but not in Italy, where lots of people still love his anime. A movie frame is included with each copy, which is a nice idea.
The true jewel of this DVD are the extra contents, realized by the Italian publisher itself: interviews with the original Goldrake song composers Vince Tempera, Luigi Albertelli and Alberto Tadini. Recently, the publisher has released a box set containinh the three movies plus a forth one.
