MacKenzie, member of the SPR, examines their vast literature on hauntings collected in more than 100 years for a confrontation between older and newer cases. MacKenzie has written a true reference about hauntings. Each case, Cheltenham, Mill House, two haunted parishes, Beavor Lodge, a white rose on the grave, a haunted street, Versailles, the retrocognition of Puits, Grandpa Bull, Cleve Court, Abbey House, plus two more cases are extensively described and reinvestigated by the author himself. The reports are preceded by a very interesting chapter, a debate on ghosts.
Despite being out of print in English, this is a convincing book regarding the reality of ghosts.
