ABC UFO Glossary » Glossary
Glossary is an English word even though its originsa are found in the ancient Roman language: latin: "glossarium, glossa" (foreign word). In fact it indicates a list of often difficult-to-understand words followed by their definitions.
An encyclopedia of any kind cannot be considered complete without providing a comprehensive glossary.
I realized the reader who's not too much into ufology or into the paranormal may stumble upon weird words such as "flap", "orthotenie", or "mat-demat". In an effort to provide an clear resource, this glossary tries to cover most paranormal, scientific, military, ufology-related terms and acronyms.

153. Vimana
Sanskrit vi-māna literally means "measuring out, traversing" or "having been measured out". Described in ancient Sanskrit texts of the indo-arian mythology such as the Mahabharata, vimanas are considered by UFO researchers as airships, flying chariots, similar to the contemporary UFOs, ermployed Gods in the Vedas. The weapons and capabilities of vimanas surely recalls our modern aircraft warfare. The first to spot the link UFO-vimana is Lord Desmond Leslie in the 1950s. Despite the popularity of his book, his translation was not accurate. |

155. Wolf, Michael
Deceased American scientist, real name Kruvant. Author of the book "Catchers Of Heaven - A Trilogy", he claimed to have worked for years on black projects and for a secret group, as interface between aliens and humans, called "Alphacom Team". His book is seen as foolish at best. |

156. Xenoglossy
French physiologist Charles Richet coined the tem "xenoglossy" as the ability to speak in an unknown and never-studied foreign language. The phenomenon is frequently present in incidents of past-life-recall, and states of altered consciousness such as trance, delirium, and mediumship. These cases usually can't stand a proper scientific investigation. In ufology, the term is used as "alien language". |

158. Z.P.E.
Zero-Point Energy. Quantum physics predicts the existence of an underlying sea of zero-point energy at every point in the universe. This energy is so enormous. Most physicists believe that, even though zero-point energy seems to be an inescapable consequence of elementary quantum theory, it cannot be physically real. This is why it is subtracted away in calculations. |

159. Zeta Reticuli
Reticulum constellation, 113 light years away from our Solar System. Discovered in 2001 through Doppler Spectroscopy, sources like the Hills claim this (Zeta 4 in particular) is the home of an alien species called the Grays (or Zetas). Over the years Zeta Reticuli has become a myth among UFO enthusiasts. Following the lunatic fringe of ufology, the US Government made a deal with the Grays, allowing them to abduct people. Serious researchers regard these claims as nonsense. |
